GENERAL

How have operations changed due to pandemic?
Under current state regulations, we permitted to welcome customers into the studio with reduced capacity. We temporarily have shortened hours due to this and staffing limitations. For the time being, turn-around times for firing projects will increase to up to two weeks instead of one. While we adjust to this temporary method of operation, we ask you for your patience. If something isn't to your expectations, please reach out to us and we will do what we can to correct it and refine this new system.

What are the pre-made glass pieces for sale on your website?
Angela has made a limited number of custom glass pieces that you can purchase during this time. They are all made right here in Clifton Park, NY.

 

ORDERING

Can I browse and pick out my Pottery To-Go in the studio?
While we encourage you to place your orders ahead of time over the phone or online, you may now pick out your Pottery To-Go in the studio. Pottery To-Go colors are limited to the selection on the website, thank you for understanding. If you have trouble ordering online, please reach out to us and we will help work out alternative ordering options for you.

Why don't I see an option for Delivery?
If you live outside of our delivery radius, you will only have the option of Pickup Curbside at Arts & Glass on your online order. You can contact us to request a delivery quote for farther locations.

What if I want pieces I don't see on the website?
As we roll out this new system, we are constantly adding more of our hundreds of pottery pieces to our online ordering system. If there's something you're looking for sooner, please let us know and we will work with you to get that into our ordering system.

How much paint do I get with my piece?
Unless otherwise indicated, each piece includes four complementary cups of 1oz of paint each. You can also purchase additional 1oz cups of paint for $1.50. If you are planning to use a lot of a single color, we recommend choosing the same color for more than one of the included paint cups and/or purchasing the additional paint cups.

 

GETTING YOUR ORDER

How can I pick up my Pottery To-Go or fired artwork?
Our current pick-up windows are Thursday/Friday/Sunday 12-6pm and Saturday 9am-8pm. We ask that you give 1 hour for your order to be packed--if you need it sooner, please make a note in Order Comments and we will do our best to rush that for you.

What if I can't make it in during the pick up window?
If you cannot make it in within this window, please contact us and we will do our best to find another pick-up time for you.

How does delivery work?
We offer delivery for a flat fee per order to a 15mi radius from Arts & Glass on Fridays. Orders over $100 may quality for free delivery.
Online Pottery To-Go orders placed by 6pm on Thursdays will be delivered on Fridays, weather permitting. We are using a contactless delivery system, in which we will drop off your order at the front door of your building. We will notify you after your order has been delivered. If for some reason we are able to deliver your order earlier than Friday, or if our delivery schedule needs to temporarily change, we will contact you to let you know.

 

PAINTING YOUR PIECES

Is the paint toxic/washable?
All Pottery To-Go glazes are non-toxic and washable. For ease of cleanup, you might want to put down paper towels or newspapers when working.

Can I use my own paints, markers and decorating supplies?
No. Pencils, Sharpies, crayons, other markers, and other paints cause cause firing problems that will damage your pottery, our equipment, or create harmful fumes when put through the kiln. We will not be able to fire your piece for you if you use other substances than the included glazes on it. If you need something else to complete your project, please reach out to us so we can help.

How long can I hold onto pieces before firing?
Once dried, pottery pieces can go a very long time before they are fired. The important thing will be to keep them in a safe place where they will not collect dust, grease, dirt, crumbs or other substances. Once dry, place your pieces back in the paper bag they came in to protect them until they are ready to come back to Arts & Glass.

 

AFTER PAINTING

How do I drop off pieces to be fired?
Currently you can drop off your painted pieces in their paper bags at Arts & Glass on Thursday/Friday/Sunday 12-6pm or Saturday 9am-8pm. Please see "How can I pick up my stuff?" above for more information. When you drop off your pieces, please include a piece of paper with your full name and best contact phone number written clearly so that we can identify your artwork.

We also offer a paid option online in which Arts & Glass will pick up your painted pieces, fire them, and then deliver them for $30. This is only available within our 15mi delivery radius. Painted pottery to be collected must be packed in its brown bag and left outside the front door of your building for contactless collection. We will be in touch to schedule such collections.

How do I pick up my fired pieces?
Our current pick-up windows are Thursday/Friday/Sunday 12-6pm or Saturday 9am-8pm. If you prefer not to enter the studio, please call the studio before you head over or when you arrive for us to grab your order. We can place it out front for you to take when you arrive.
